Summary

The AdeptWrite Hashtag Generator suggests hashtags from your post, caption or topic. Pick Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X or YouTube, paste your text (up to 6,000 characters) and click Generate. You get one line of tags sized for that platform: 3 to 5 for Instagram, 3 to 6 for TikTok, 3 to 5 for LinkedIn and YouTube, and 1 or 2 for X. It is free, needs no account and promises no reach.

How to use Hashtag Generator

  1. Paste your caption, post draft, video title or a short description of the topic.
  2. Choose the platform: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) or YouTube.
  3. Click Generate (or press Ctrl/⌘ + Enter) to get a single line of hashtags.
  4. Remove any tag that does not truly fit, add one or two of your own, then copy the line into your post.

Before & after

BEFORE
Platform: LinkedIn. Post: We just published our 2026 guide to remote onboarding for small engineering teams, with a checklist for the first 30 days.
AFTER
#RemoteWork #Onboarding #EngineeringManagement #TeamCulture #SmallTeams

Note: LinkedIn mode uses professional industry terms and writes multi-word tags in CamelCase so they stay readable. The same post in X mode would return only one or two short tags.

Features & modes

Available modes: Instagram · TikTok · LinkedIn · X (Twitter) · YouTube

  • Five platform modes — Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X (Twitter) and YouTube, each with its own tag count and style.
  • Broad and niche mix — Instagram and TikTok results combine one or two broader topic tags with more specific ones that match your post.
  • Clean tags only — Every tag starts with # and has no spaces or punctuation inside it. Duplicates are not repeated.
  • One copy-ready line — The tags come back on a single line separated by spaces, ready to paste under a caption or into a video description.
  • Works in other languages — Write your post in another language and the tags follow it, while widely used international tags stay as they are.

Made for

Instagram posts and reels
Find a handful of tags that describe a recipe, a workout or a product photo without copying a generic list.
TikTok videos
Add a couple of discovery tags and a few niche ones to a clip about study tips, fitness or a local event.
LinkedIn updates
Tag a post about hiring, a conference or a lesson learned with industry terms that colleagues actually follow.
YouTube descriptions
Pick the most specific tag for the video first, then one or two broader ones for the description.

How many hashtags should you use?

There is no magic number, and platforms change their guidance over time. What stays true is that a few relevant tags beat a wall of loosely related ones. Tags exist to tell people and search what the post is about. If a tag does not describe the content, leave it out.

The generator follows a sensible default for each platform:

PlatformTags returnedStyle
Instagram3 to 5One or two broader topic tags, the rest niche and specific to the post
TikTok3 to 6One or two broad discovery tags that really fit, the rest specific
LinkedIn3 to 5Professional, industry terms, CamelCase for multi-word tags
X (Twitter)1 to 2Short, directly on topic
YouTube3 to 5Most specific to the video first, then broader ones, for the description

Get better hashtags from better input

  • Paste your finished caption instead of a single word. Context lets the tool choose specific tags.
  • Mention the niche, place or event, for example "vegan meal prep in Austin".
  • Check each result by searching it in the app. If the tag is full of unrelated or off-topic posts, replace it.
  • Avoid banned, spammy or misleading tags. A tag should never promise something the post does not deliver.

Write tags people can read

Capitalize each word in multi-word tags (#MealPrepSunday rather than #mealprepsunday). Screen readers read CamelCase tags correctly, and people scan them more easily. Keep tags short and skip punctuation, since it breaks the link.

Next steps

Write the caption first with the Caption Generator, then add tags. If you are setting up a profile, the Bio Generator fits the character limits of each platform.

Limits

The tool suggests tags from your text. It does not see live trends, tag volumes or ban lists, and it cannot promise reach or engagement. Always check that a tag means what you think it means in your community before you use it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the hashtag generator free?

Yes. It is free without an account and your text is not stored. Each run accepts up to 6,000 characters of input, and a fair-use limit on requests per minute applies. For hashtags you will rarely come close to either limit.

How many hashtags does it give me?

It depends on the platform you choose: 3 to 5 for Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube, 3 to 6 for TikTok and 1 or 2 for X. They come back on one line, separated by spaces, so you can copy them in a single step.

Will these hashtags get me more followers?

No tool can promise that. Good hashtags help people find a post that is relevant to them, but reach also depends on content quality, timing and the platform's algorithm. Use the generator as a time saver, not as a growth guarantee.

Does it know which hashtags are trending right now?

No. It works from your text and general knowledge of how tags are written, not from live trend or volume data. If trending tags matter for your post, check the platform's search or analytics, then add them yourself if they truly fit.

Can I generate hashtags for a language other than English?

Yes. Paste your post in that language and the tags are written in it, while widely used international tags such as #TikTok stay unchanged. Review them with a native reader if the language is not your first.

What is the difference between Instagram and LinkedIn mode?

Instagram mode mixes a broad tag with niche ones for a visual, casual feed. LinkedIn mode uses professional industry terms and writes multi-word tags in CamelCase, since the audience is looking for topics related to work and careers.
