Terms of use

By using adeptwrite.com and its API you agree to the short terms below. We wrote them in plain language so that they actually get read.

Last updated:

1. The service

AdeptWrite provides AI-based writing tools and local in-browser tools (together, the "Service") free of charge and without an account. Paid plans and optional accounts add higher limits. We may change, add or discontinue parts of the Service at any time; we intend to keep the core tools free as described on the Pricing page.

2. Fair use and rate limits

The Service is technically limited so it stays fast for everyone: a maximum text length per request (6,000 characters at the API level, and lower or higher depending on your plan), 30 requests per minute per IP address, and a global per-minute limit. Exceeding a limit returns a 429 response. You may not circumvent these limits with automation, rotating proxies or other means, and may not use the Service from third-party applications without written permission until keyed API access is available.

3. Prohibited uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • create or distribute content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening or harassing;
  • pass off other people's work as your own, including to evade plagiarism checkers or academic-integrity policies;
  • process other people's personal data without a lawful basis;
  • attempt to access, disrupt or overload our systems beyond normal use (including scanning, mass scraping or attacks);
  • reverse-engineer, resell or re-present the Service as your own product.

4. AI output: no warranty

Output from the AI tools is generated by a language model and may be wrong, incomplete or out of context. The Service is provided "as is" without any warranty, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability. You must review every result before using it, especially for academic, legal, medical or financial documents.

5. Your responsibility for citations and plagiarism

Paraphrases, summaries and AI-generated writing do not replace your duty to cite sources. You are fully responsible for including correct citations, complying with your institution's academic-integrity policy and ensuring that your final text does not infringe anyone's copyright. AdeptWrite is not liable for academic or legal sanctions arising from the use of tool output.

6. Your content

The text you enter remains yours. We do not store it and acquire no rights to it; see the Privacy policy. You are free to use tool output, including commercially, subject to sections 4 and 5.

7. Our content

Guides, the glossary, the standard-word list and site copy belong to AdeptWrite unless stated otherwise. You may quote them with attribution and a link. Third-party brand names on comparison pages belong to their respective owners and are mentioned for comparison only.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, AdeptWrite is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, which is zero if you use the free tools.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top of the page shows the version in force. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the new terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. Disputes that cannot be settled amicably are brought before the competent courts in Indonesia.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use paraphrased output in my thesis?

Yes, as a writing aid, as long as you check the meaning and still cite the original source in the required citation style. Your university's academic-integrity policy sets the boundaries; the responsibility is yours.

Can I use the output for commercial content?

Yes. Tool output may be used for captions, product descriptions, emails or articles, including ones that make money. You remain responsible for making sure the content is accurate and does not infringe anyone's rights.

May I call the API from my own app?

Not yet. The API currently serves adeptwrite.com only (same-origin). Keyed API access is planned alongside the Pro plan; until then, use from outside the site breaches these terms.
