Privacy policy

In short: the text you paste is not stored anywhere, not written to logs and not used to train models. Analytics and ads (Google Analytics and Google AdSense) may set cookies, and you can opt out of personalised ads.

1. Who we are

AdeptWrite (adeptwrite.com) is run by the AdeptWrite Team. Questions about this policy can be sent to the email address at the bottom of the page. This policy covers adeptwrite.com and its API under the /api/ path.

2. The text you process

AI tools

AI-based tools (paraphraser, grammar checker, tone changer, sentence rewriter, shortener/expander, essay writer, summarizer, translator, thesis titles, abstracts, captions, email, headlines, product descriptions, synonyms) send your text over HTTPS to our server running on Cloudflare Workers. The server forwards the text to a language model on Cloudflare Workers AI solely to produce the result, then returns that result to your browser.

  • Text is never stored in a database, file, cache or any other storage.
  • Text is never logged. Server logs contain only technical metadata (status code, task name, duration) and no text content.
  • Text is never used to train our models or any third party's. Cloudflare Workers AI processes requests as an inference service and, under its terms, does not use customer input to train models.
  • Responses carry Cache-Control: no-store, so no copy is left in any cache.

Local tools

The spell checker, dictionary and word checker, word counter, readability score, case converter, text compare and citation generator run entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Text for these tools is never sent to our server.

Fallback engine

If the AI server cannot be reached, the paraphraser and grammar checker of the Indonesian edition switch to a simpler local engine in your browser, and your text does not leave your device. In other languages the editor shows an error and a retry button.

3. Data stored on your device

We use the browser's localStorage for your theme choice (dark/light, key aw-theme) and, if you sign in, a few settings that keep you signed in. Sign-in uses essential cookies (a session cookie and a short-lived plan cookie). Analytics and advertising services can set their own cookies, as described in section 5. No text you process is ever kept on your device by us. Clearing site data in your browser resets all of this.

4. Accounts

You do not need an account to use the tools. If you create one, we store your email address (and your name if you give it), the public keys of your passkeys, your plan and daily usage counters, which are numbers and not words. Never your text. Paid plans are paid through an external payment provider, which handles your payment details; we do not store card numbers. Sign-in sets the essential cookies described in section 3.

5. Analytics and advertising

Analytics. AdeptWrite uses Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to count visits and measure site performance in aggregate. It sets cookies (such as _ga) and sends usage data, with IP anonymisation enabled, to Google. See the section "Advertising and cookies" below for how to opt out.

Advertising. AdeptWrite shows ads from Google AdSense on some content pages (guides, tool pages and similar) to keep the tools free. When ads are active, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites; the section "Advertising and cookies" at the end of this page lists the details and your opt-out choices. Pages such as this policy, the contact page, the pricing page and sign-in pages never show ads, and neither do the text-writing tools that we exclude from advertising. If a paid plan is active in your browser, no ads are loaded. Text you process in the tools is never shared with advertisers.

Consent. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent message before personalized ads or analytics cookies are used.

6. Server logs and security

Cloudflare, our infrastructure provider, processes IP addresses and request headers to serve the site, protect against attacks and apply rate limits (30 API requests per minute per IP). This data is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy and is never combined with text content by us.

7. Email

If you contact us by email, we keep the message as long as needed to answer and follow up. Please do not send confidential text or other people's personal data by email.

8. Children

The tools can be used without an account or any personal data. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

9. Your rights

We store no text, so there is no text we can show, change or delete. For account data and emails you send us, write to us through the contact page and we will show, correct or delete it on request. Users in Indonesia are protected by Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection; users elsewhere are protected by their applicable local regulations.

10. Changes

Changes to this policy are recorded by updating the date at the top of the page. Material changes (for example adding another analytics or advertising provider) are announced on this page before they take effect.

Advertising is not active on AdeptWrite at the moment, so no advertising cookies are set. Analytics cookies are described in section 5.

Frequently asked questions

Can anyone else read the text I paraphrase?

No. Your text passes through our server only momentarily to be processed by the model; it is not stored and not logged. Nobody on our team can open user text because there is no place where it is kept.

Does AdeptWrite use cookies?

Yes. Essential cookies keep you signed in if you use an account. Google Analytics sets analytics cookies, and when ads are active Google and its advertising partners may set advertising cookies. Visitors in the EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent first. Details are in section 5 and the "Advertising and cookies" section.

Is my text used to train AI?

No. We do not store text, so it cannot be used for training, and Cloudflare Workers AI does not use customer input to train models.
